Fibrefusion have published four books since 2002 which are worked on collectively by all the group
These books are being sold world-wide and have been an amazing success. We have just published our fourth book “On Form”, a stitchers workbook on sculptural textiles. As with all our books, “On Form” endeavours to reach those with experience who have the basic skills, but want to develop the confidence to cultivate their own style and continually push the boundaries.

Beyond Boundaries £8.00
Gone are the days when embroidery was solely about stitch and embellishment. Mixed media techniques are a very strong element of the creative embroidery world and this diversity is perhaps the reason why so many of us enjoy the challenge that is textile art.
This book, based on the aims of our workshop is geared towards you and your friends – people who have acquired many of the basic techniques. You enjoy attending day schools and workshops and are striving to find a way forward to develop your own style, yet stay motivated. Why don’t you draw on your own skills and travel beyond the boundaries?
Remember, the more books you order (any titles), the cheaper the postage.

Encrustation £8.00
As a group, we have always found the free exchange of ideas between us extremely stimulating and productive.
At our workshops we have agreed that one of the things that attracts us to our love of working with textiles, is the tactile dimension created by embellishment – not only embellishment with stitch but also the wide variety of mixed media which we use to ‘encrust’ the fabric surface – hence the title - Encrustation. We gain valuable experience from the courses and workshops we attend and then build on this to extend our existing knowledge and develop our own individual styles of working.
‘Encrustation’ is a follow-on to our successful first book ‘Beyond Boundaries’. Both books provide reminders, suggestions, experiments and challenges for the experienced embroiderer. In ‘Encrustation’ we encourage you to create your own fabrics, then to develop your design by richly encrusting and embellishing your background.

Evolutions £10.00
As with most people immersed in the field of textiles, the members of Fibrefusion have a natural curiosity that attracts them to the new and trendy products on the market, or the latest techniques or style of work doing the rounds.
It can become an addiction, a ‘quick fix’ and road to indulgence in our passion for textiles, without having to put the hard work in. We are all aware that ‘nothing is new’ and that our work must be presented in a distinctive and personal way, led by our design exploration. At workshops, tutors teach their own individual style of work – can it be so easy, for us to change their colour scheme, fabrics or design source to make their art individual enough to become our own? Surely we are forgetting something?
How many years have you been working in the field of textiles? Stop and consider the amount of experience and number of skills you have acquired over those years. Believe in yourself and have courage to develop your own style through exploration, experimentation, patience and determination.
We don’t suggest that you should ignore the ‘new and trendy’, indeed, in our first two books ‘Beyond Boundaries’ and ‘Encrustation’ we celebrated the rich diversity of the new products and techniques which are available today. ‘Evolutions’ challenges you to regenerate and revitalise the skills you already have and drive them forward with renewed vigour – the act of evolution.

On Form £12.00
Some of the best advice we have been given is ’not to write a book unless we have something to say’. If you were a fly on the wall at the group’s workshop meetings, you would see that we always have something to say – perhaps too much sometimes. It is exciting though, to work through our ideas and challenges, to evaluate what is practical and the subject area we are most inspired by. So here we are once again, inviting you to share our enthusiasm for the three-dimensional – with our fourth book, ‘On Form’.
‘On Form’ is Fibrefusion’s personal response to experimentation with the creation of sculptural forms in the exciting and constantly evolving field of textiles.
We don’t attempt to cover every method of construction, but to offer suggestions, tips and challenges to show the way we have tackled the creation of sculptural forms, as individuals and as a group.
