Fibre Fusion Accessibility Digital Services Policy
Fibre Fusion is committed to providing a website that is fully accessible and in compliance with the Equality Act 2010, the UK’s disability equality legislation.
This policy outlines our commitment to providing an equal access to all users of the Fibre Fusion website, regardless of any disability or impairment they may have. We will make every effort to ensure that our website and its features are available, easy to use, and comprehensible for anyone who visits it.
Design Principles
Our design principles are based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 which aims to make sure web content can be properly accessed by everyone, regardless of any impairments or disabilities they may have. Our design standards follow these guidelines:
- Our page structure should include appropriate elements such as headings, paragraphs and lists;
- We must identify change of language when used;
- All images must include appropriate alternative text;
- All audio files must include captions;
- None of our content should cause seizures;
- All forms must be navigable via keyboard commands alone;
- All meaningful information conveyed through colour should also be available without colour;
Accessibility Features Available on the Site
On this site we provide several accessibility features including enlarged text size, high colour contrast settings and additional navigation tools such as skip links, breadcrumbs and tab controls where appropriate. An accessibility menu is also available at the top of each page allowing users to toggle certain page elements such as fonts size and contrast levels according to their own preference settings – making it easier for them navigate around the site with ease. In addition, we have made sure that all PDF documents opened from our website meet WCAG2 AA level criteria for accessibility-readiness so all users can view them without hindrance or obstruction of any kind. Finally, for those using assistive technology such as speech recognition software or screen readers we have included coded labels in HTML5 where necessary so that our content can be read out loud accurately in all major browsers without interruption or confusion from ambiguous language descriptions which could otherwise cause confusion with interpretation and correct understanding when read aloud by screen readers [1].
